CACP Executive Global Studies Program
CACP Global 2019
Primary Research Theme: The 2019 program commenced on January 7, 2019, focused on a dual theme as assigned by the CACP Board of Directors in November 2018. The primary research theme was “Navigating Seismic Shifts in Public Policy”, and this research formed the basis for the cohort’s Summary Report to the Board (below).
New Program Proposal Accepted:
It is also from within this theme that the concept for a new learning program emerged and was proposed to the CACP in August 2019 at Calgary. In November 2019, the proposed new CACP Strategic Foresight program received Board approval to proceed as a pilot in 2020. This program is intended for a different learning audience and is intended to proceed in parallel with ongoing Global Studies cohorts. Information on CACP-SF is now available via the link below. The Global Studies 2019 Proposal Reference Card is provided below.
Research Sub-Theme on Decriminalization:
The parallel sub-theme assigned to Global Studies 2019 was to examine and gain current evidence on various regimes, experiences and considerations underway in select countries with regard to the decriminalization of illicit drugs. Executed in partnership with the CACP Special Purpose Committee on the Decriminalizaiton of Illicit Drugs (SPC-DID), this work produced a special Appendix as part of the Global Studies 2019 outcomes. The Decriminalization Appendix was submitted to the SPC-DID in June, and subsequently to the Board in August. It is available for download below.
